Advice from Real Bratz Jasmin

Namaste, Bratzies!

It’s Yasmin here, and I just had the most totally fabnomenal convo with #RealBratz Jasmin Larian, creator of Cult Gaia. Jasmin is only 24 years old and ALREADY has a booming company selling handmade flower crowns. They are soooooo pretty!

The best part about Jasmin is that she is totally a zensible girl! (Aaaaaand is one letter away from having the cutest name ever, if I do say so myself!!!) She is super chill and had a ton of fab advice for Bratzies unleashing their passions, like us!!

Jasmin says you should, “Do what you love and success will find you.”

We Bratz couldn’t agree more!! (See, I told you this gal was OM-mazing!!)

She also says to never let fear hold you back from unleashing your passion. You don’t want to be the thing that gets in the way of your own success. Jasmin admits, “I didn’t have any fear. I just did what I liked. Not having fear gives you the certainty that you will do.”

This chica is totes zen about her success. When I asked her secret is, she said it’s her BBFs!!!

“My friends are why I do what I do. It’s why I got started.”

Jasmin never set off on a mission to build her own company. She began by simply making flower crowns to give her friends on their birthdays. They were so beautifierce that boutiques couldn’t help but take notice. “I always made gifts for my friends. When I was little I used to design and decorate their birthday cards instead of buying one.”

It’s totes OM-Mazing how doing something so small, something that we ALL do — like designing a bday card or gift for a friend — can turn into a lifetime of doing what you love!!

And Jasmin has her fabnomenal friends to thank. They have been her biggest supporters and her most inspiring role models.

“There is so much success to be had in collaborations, between like-minded people. Having supportive friends is everything. You need people to bounce ideas off of and create from. Good friends inspire each other. The friends who have been influential in my own personal growth are the ones I look up to.”

We totes agree.

With Jasmin having such rad success at such a young age, I asked her what she hopes to still accomplish later in life.

“I want to keep doing creative things in one form or another. I want to stay positive and keep my zest for life so when I’m 90 I can say that I have lived my whole life to its fullest.”

We love you, Jasmin!!

xoxo

P.S. Don’t forget to prove to us why YOU are a Real Bratz. Check out how to send us a video and become the next Real Bratz hero we honor here:

I Believe in Mermaids

Namaste Bratzies and HOBles alike!

Did everyone have a zentastic Spring Break? My break was OM-mazing! I went to the beach, did yoga on the sand, collected seashells and just inner peaced with my rad self.

I love going to the ocean! It is so peaceful and inspiring. When I’m at the beach, I love watching the horizon and keeping my eyes peeled for dolphins, whales and mermaids. Yes, mermaids!!

Did you know that scientists believe we have only discovered about 70% of the world’s sea creatures? There are still so many mysteries buried deep in the oceans. Under the blue seas reside the deepest caverns and the tallest mountains on the planet! Perhaps, hidden away in one of those deep-sea caverns, lives a handful of mermaids. You never know!  And it doesn’t hurt to believe.

When Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas he wrote in his diary about mermaids that swam along his ship! He even drew fabtastic pictures of them in journal. Later, Columbus decided that he didn’t see a mermaid but had actually seen a manatee. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s pretty hard to confuse the two! Maybe he just second-guessed seeing such a mysterious and mythological creature.

I know I may seem silly to believe in mermaids, but it is fun to believe that Mother Earth still holds some magical secrets! One of my total fave movie quotes is, “Don’t overlook those lovely intangibles. You’ll discover those are the only things worthwhile.”

I’m not saying mermaids exist. I’m just not saying they don’t exist.

I didn’t see any mermaids on my spring vacay, but I had a fabtabulous time lookin’ for them!

Do you believe in anything wondrous and unseen, like mermaids?

Stay believin’!

P.S. Don’t forget to come back to the blog on Sunday to see what members of the House of Bratz will be wearing on Monday!!!

Dancing Daffodils

Namaste, Bratzies!

I’m blooming with excitement! Not only is March my birthday month, but its official flower is my personal fave: the wild daffodil!

I dig the wild daffodil for rivers of reasons. It’s bright, cheery and even though it’s usually yellow and white, the flower can be found in my signature color, pink! Also, scientists found a natural compound in the daffodil bulb that may help treat brain cancer! Bringing cheer and helping change the world totally makes the wild daffodil an honorary Real Bratz flower!

What I heart most about wild daffodils is that they energize my creativity by popping up out of nowhere. Just like my story ideas! I could totes chillax in a meadow of wild daffodils and write in my journal all day!

I’m not the only Real Bratz inspired by wild daffodils. English author, poet and diarist, Dorothy Mae Ann Wordsworth, wrote about stumbling upon tumbling daffodils while walking though the woods with her brother, famous poet William Wordsworth. Inspired by his sister’s journal entry, William Wordsworth wrote a super-famous poem about daffodils dancing in the breeze.

You can read the totally awesome poem here: https://wordsworth.org.uk/daffodils.html

Can you Bratzies tell me what your favorite flower is? Or tell me about the greatness your fave flower inspires in you!

Write on!

First Lady Firsts

Happy Friday, Bratzies! Yasmin here, and I was doing some reading on the President’s Inauguration last month and the way cool dress Michelle Obama wore to the Inaugural Ball.  I found out that she’s the first Democratic First Lady to wear red to the Inaugural Ball in at LEAST a hundred years! I thought that totally fit her, though, because she’s done a lot of firsts since her husband has been President. Did you know Michelle Obama planted the first vegetable garden in the White House in over sixty years?

Michelle Obama isn’t the only First Lady with firsts. Did you know Hillary Clinton was the first First Lady with a postgraduate degree and her own office in the West Wing? Or that Laura Bush was the first non-president to deliver the weekly presidential radio address, and spoke on female equality across the globe? I think it’s pretty awesome that these ladies worked just as hard as our Presidents to make a difference in not only the United States, but the world.

Have you ever done something that your friends or family had never done before you? Let’s hear about your fabulous strides to set the bar higher, Real Bratz!

Happy Weekending!

It’s Never Too Early To Lead

Cloe here, Bratzies, and I’m super excited today to see that, with the five women inaugurated into the United States Senate this month, there are now more women serving in the Senate than have ever served before in US History. What’s even cooler is that 70% of those women are former Girl Scouts. That means these women were learning how to help their fellow man and be strong leaders when they were our age!

What I like the most about this is that it proves that it’s never too soon to start being a leader, or to reach out and help your community. I plan to start helping out by volunteering with the Special Olympics this year, and put my love for sports to a good use by empowering the athletes I will work with. Maybe someday, it’ll be ME getting sworn in to help make the United States a better place.

What have you done to help your school, community, or country? What would you like to do to help?

Talk To You Later,

Bratz and the Big Screen

Watching movies in the theaters and at home with the family is the best! This year there were some really cool movies like The Secret World of Arrietty, Hotel Transylvania, Frankenweenie and Ice Age: Continental Drift…but the movie that really stood out to us was Dr. Suess’ The Lorax. It’s based on one of our very favorite childhood books by Dr. Seuss.

One of the quotes that we Bratz girls took with us from the book and film, “It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become,” is super important to us. We love keeping an eye to the future and working hard to make everything that we have into something totally amazing in the days to come.

What were your fave movies this year, and what lessons did you take from them?

See you in the theater!

Rainy Day Hair

Rainy days can be the ultimate bad hair day! If hair is curly, the rain sometimes causes frizz. If hair is straight in the rain, our beautiful strands can fall flat. What a bummer!

As the resident fashionista, I’m here to talk how to perk up that rainy day hair in a jiffy. There are so many things a Bratzie can do!

I’m always a fan of a messy ponytail, pigtails or the uber trendy top-knot. If you’re really feelin’ down about your hair because of the rain, I suggest trying a hat (like the beret I’m wearing in the photo). There are also really cute slouchy beanies, headbands (try a thick winter, knitted one) or even go sporty with a baseball cap.

Don’t let a little wet hair bring ya down!

What hairstyles do you try in the rain? Tell me in a comment, I’m always looking for new tips!

Love,

2013 NYE Resolutions

Bratz here to talk about 2013 resolutions for 2013! This seems to be something that everybody (especially our parents) always talks about at the end of every year. The way we understand it people pick a few things they’d like to improve on, do or do without for the next year and then they try really really really hard to stick to these goals. We think making resolutions for 2013 is a great idea, so we’re going to do it too. Here are some resolutions that we’re all going to set for ourselves –

  1. Spend more time happy and less time sad
  2. Smile more to people at school
  3. See something, say something – it is NOT Ok for people to be bullied
  4. Make the effort to get better grades at school
  5. Play outside more. Be active!
  6. Always be a friend – there is no need for enemies in life
  7. Hug our moms & dads more
  8. Read one book per month (not including school required books, silly friends)
  9. Drink more water and less soda
  10. When given the choice, always be kind

Will you join us in setting goals for 2013 with NYE Resolutions? Tell us what some of your NYE Resolutions are in a comment below!

Wishing all of you a very safe and fun New Year’s Eve! Bring in the New Year with a big smile because life is beautiful…and so are you!

Happy [Almost] 2013

Bundled Up Style

Yasmin here for another post on our Bratz Trends Blog today! Lots of our friends have been asking us for tips to dress during the cold Fall and Winter months, so I decided to take the lead to talk about stylish bundled up fashion.

Just because the weather is a drag, doesn’t mean our fashion has to be drab. Right, Bratzies?

There are so many ways to jazz up an outfit even when the weather is trying really hard to give us a “bad outfit day.” I recommend sticking with styles that you know you love and feel comfortable wearing. The important thing is to stay warm!

If you are still looking for more tips, I’ve put together a quick list of Do’s & Don’t’s for ya below!

The Do’s

  • Definitely Layer Clothes – it makes it easy to go from outdoor to indoor weather without freezing or overheating.
  • Be Scarf & Gloves Ready – these are great accessories that look good & help keep you warm. They’re also easy to stuff in a backpack or handbag…even a large coat jacket!
  • Consider a Hat – a lot of heat escapes from the top of the head, so a hat is a good way of trapping that heat to keep in “storage” on a cold day.
  • Mix & Match – a good rule to stick with in every season. Mix summer prints with winter colors or summer colors with winter prints.

The Don’t’s

  • Wear Summer Shorts or Dresses – it’s too cold for summer fabrics unless you cover those legs with tights or leggings.
  • Go outside with wet hair – even though wet hair may not get you sick, wet hair in cold weather sure does make someone feel colder than usual!
  • Forget to moisturize – cold weather often dries out skin & lips. Don’t forget to apply chapstick & lotion.
