Hey Lovelies – Cloe here! Want to know a secret? Some mornings I have fashion crises, too!  This morning I woke up and I couldn’t find a thing to wear in my closet FULL of clothes – nothing seemed to look right! Don’t you hate it when that happens? So I decided to first pick a pair of stylin’ shoes and then build my outfit around them. Pretty shoes somehow always make me feel better! Anyway, I slipped on my newest, and most rockin’, pair of heels and suddenly I felt like everything I wore looked super chic and glamorous. Check them out, aren’t they just fab?!?

This got me thinking, shoes are a very important essential in every girl’s closet so I’m going to share with you this spring/summer’s hottest shoe trends – with these five pairs you’re set for summer!

  • Ballet Flats are super cute and comfortable to wear out during the day when you’re having lunch with friends, shopping at the mall or running errands.
  • Fun and easy to wear tennis shoes in cool colors and designs are totally in this season. If you’re going to be doing a lot of walking these are definitely the shoes to choose.
  • Chunky espadrilles are a classic spring shoe. Wear them with a pretty floral sundress for a perfect match.
  • Bejeweled gladiator sandals are a great alternative for the average pair of flip-flops. They’re just as easy to wear but they come in super stylin’ varieties that you can dress up or down – and show off your latest pedicure!
  • Going out for a fancy occasion? Wear dark denim and pick up a pair of vampy heels to add a little glam but still keep a chic casual feel to your outfit.

Short feathered skirts are totally hot right now. Dresses with feathers look fun, fashionable and fierce!

Sequins! You can never have too much glitz! Just remember to keep the accessories to a minimum when wearing a fully blinged out dress.

Having trouble deciding on a short dress or long dress? The high-low hemline is so in right now! Show some leg in the front and keep it long and glam in the back. Some high-low hemline dresses even come with a fun pattern on the inside!

Bratz Hair Extensions 101

Hello dollz—Sasha on the scene bringing you a quick lesson on hair extensions! Hair extensions are a fun and fabulous way to add some color to your hair without long-term commitment or causing damage to your gorgeous locks. I’ve seen some pretty crazy styles out there—from feathers to glowing fiber optic strands! Celebs always rock extensions to help them go from long luscious waves on the red carpet to an exciting colorful hairstyle on stage.

There are a few different types of hair extensions. You can either get clip-on, glue-in or weaved in extensions.

Clip-on hair extensions are super easy to wear and change. You just need to hide the clip under a layer of hair. This is best for one-day use or if you just like to change up your look a lot!

Glue-in extensions can last up to a month—if done right—and you’ll need a hair stylist or friend to help.  To remove them you need to use a special oil-conditioning remover. If you are patient and gentle you can take them off without damaging your hair.

Weaved in extensions stay on longer than glue in extensions and are pretty much “threaded” into your hair on hidden rows of braids. These extensions take a while for the hair stylist to put on your hair but the results are worth it if you want the extensions in for a long time. You can wash your hair and style it anyway you want!

Bratz Beauty How To: Cat-Eye Look

Hello lovelies! It’s Meygan here to teach you how to create the purr-fect Cat-Eye look! This is a classic make-up style that anyone can pull off with practice and good eyeliner. To get this glamourous look, you’ll need your favorite liquid eyeliner and an eyeliner brush with a fine-tip point.

1) Start by drawing a thin line on the inner part of your upper eyelid. Keep it very close to the lash line.

2)Go back to the outer eyelid and thicken the line just above the line you just drew. The line should be thin at the inner eye and slowly thicken as you get to the outer eyelid.

3) Then add a winged end—like a small check mark! Don’t let the winged end extend further than the length of your eyebrow—unless you’re going for a more dramatic look!

Be sure to rest your elbow on a surface, like the counter, to keep your hand steady. If you mess up a little, use some eye moisturizer or make-up remover to erase and start again. It takes lots of practice to get the hang of it, so just relax and have fun with it!

True Hope Bratz Dolls Receive Celebrity Support

In February, MGA Entertainment announced its plans to launch a line of dolls called “True Hope” Bratz® and Moxie Girlz™ Dolls in response to the social media petition for a bald doll to raise awareness of children going through chemotherapy, affected by alopecia or dealing with a parent with cancer.

Hunger Games star, Kalia Prescott, encouraged her Twitter followers to check out Bratz True Hope.

 

The dolls will be available to purchase in June at Toys “R” Us and $1 from each will be donated to City of Hope Cancer Foundation.

Bratz and MGA Entertainment received a resounding amount of support from the public following this announcement. We wanted to share some of the buzz from our celebrity supporters here on the official Bratz Trends blog—it’s always trendy to help others!

At the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards celebrities tweeted their support for Bratz True Hope.

Aubrey O'Day from former pop group Danity Kane and Celebrity Apprentice star, tweeted her support and applauded Bratz for being the first to create dolls for this cause.

Dana Wilkey from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills tweeted her support and thanked Bratz for stepping up!

Jennifer Stone, who plays Harper on Wizards of Waverly Place, stopped by to say hello to the True Hope Bratz!

Another Wizards of Waverly Place star, Maria Canals-Berrera, came by to see what True Hope is all about.

Lip-Wear Lowdown

Hey Bratz fanz, Cloe here to give you a lesson in luscious lip-wear! Do you know the difference between lip-gloss, lipstick, lip stain and lip balm? There are so many options for the perfect pout that it can get confusing. I’m here to help you understand it all! Let’s begin!

Lipstick: Lipstick comes in many different colors, from shades of pink and red to nudes, corals and plums. You can go for a natural look or pick an intense shade depending on how you’re feeling. Here are my top tips for applying lipstick:

  1. Lip liner is important if you’re experimenting with dark shades like red. Pick a matching lip liner and trace over the natural line of your lips. Don’t use lip liner when applying light colors.
  2. Use a lip brush to smooth on lipstick within the natural line of your lips.
  3. Blot! Get a piece of tissue paper and blot off excess color by smacking your lips together.

I love a luscious lip gloss!

Lip gloss: I’m a total lip gloss addict! I think I have like 7 in my purse right now, lol! When you want something easy to apply with a high-shine, go for lip gloss. They come in lots of colors, they go on smooth and they leave your lips glistening! Just glide onto your lips and go!

Lip stain: Stains give a wash of color to your lips without the shine of gloss or the strong hue of lipstick. They’re super long lasting and perfect for all-day color without the worry of reapplying. They usually come in the form of a felt tip marker. My tip for applying lip stain is to draw the line of your lips first then color in the rest. So cute, so kissable! Muah!

Lip balm: These are the easiest to wear and come in lots of fun flavors! Lip balms are made to moisturize and protect lips. There are even tinted lip balms if you want to add some extra color. My favorite is cherry flavor with pink tint.

Now that you’ve got the lip-wear lowdown it’s time to try new things! If you normally go for lip balm, try lip gloss instead! If lip gloss is your go-to lip-wear then experiment with lipstick! Being a fashionista means always trying new things!

Hot Trend: How to Wear Colored Denim

Hi Bratzies!

Colors are in this season and they’re popping up all over the place… even in denim! Celebrities like Rihanna and Fergie have been spotted rockin’ colorful jeans in magazines and models have been strutting them down the runways. I’ll share with you the secret to sporting this stylish trend and looking fabulous!

Blue jeans will never go out of style. Whether they’re boot cut, straight leg, flared or skinny, denim is here to stay! But why stop at blue when there are so many colors in the rainbow? This season jeans are showing up in a variety of colors from vibrant red to sunny yellow and they’re easy to dress up or down.  I like dressing up my pink skinny jeans with a metallic top and dark vest.

I love wearing my pink skinny jeans!

Here are a few of my style tips for wearing colored denim:

  • Pick the right fit: Most colored denim are skinny jeans, but I’ve also seen them in boot cut and straight leg styles. Pick the cut and size that compliments your body. You don’t want to be uncomfortable or look like a brightly colored fashion faux pas!
  • Play with patterns: Wear yellow denim with a leopard top or coral denim with a flower print top. As long as the pattern contains one similar color to the denim you’ll look fashionable and fierce.
  • Structured blazers: Pair your denim with a blazer to create a polished yet fun look. A white and navy striped top with a navy blazer goes great with red denim.
  • Neutrals: You can’t go wrong with light rosy pink jeans, a white top and khaki blazer. Or you can try berry-purple jeans and black blouse.
  • Color blocking: Color blocking is still very in and works well with this trend. Pick two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel and you’re guaranteed a perfect match. Royal blue jeans and an orange top go great together.

 Now go on and be colorful with these tips in mind! Have fun with it and never be afraid to be daring with your style.
