March MADAMness

Howzit hangin’, Bratzies??

Kool Kat Jade here, and I am totally stoked that March Madness has begun! I HEART watching the college basketball tournament because, seriously, March Madness is, like, the best soap opera ever! Heart are broken! Underdogs rise! Crazy plot twists! Sick stunts! Heroes fall and newbies save the day! For realz, there is nothin’ as fun as filling out your bracket, kickin’ it in front of the TV and watching awesomely athletic girls work their magic up and down the court. Yes, I said girls!

It drives me absolutely cray that most people only pay attention to the DUDES during March Madness! Most colleges have both men’s and women’s basketball teams. Both male and female athletes participate in this killer tournament. The same blood, sweat and tears are left on the court no matter what your gender is! So why, oh why, do most peeps only watch the male teams??

I know that basketball was traditionally a guy sport, but so were a lot of things, like skateboarding and surfing. That doesn’t mean they have to stay that way! Take me, for example, you KNOW this Kool Kat can ride a blade as sweet as any boy! Pushing your limits, soaking in an adrenaline and challenging yourself is boss! And not at all gender specific! Girl power!!

So this month, in honor of March being Women in History Month, let’s all commit to watching the women’s basketball games, too! Instead of March MANness, we’ll celebrate March MADAMness! A true Bratzie knows that girlz can do anything guys can do! We can play ball just as well as we can cheerlead for our sistaz playin’ ball. Am I Right??

Let’s prove it!

Olympics Slumber Party

It’s time to say “Sayonara” to the Olympics.

The Bratz and I are going to say goodbye to Sochi in style with a gnarly slumber party. I can’t wait! You and your besties should throw your own Olympics sleepover this weekend.  Just follow our lead!

First – We’ll rehash all our fave moments from the Olympics. I totally dug all the ladies extreme sports! The skiing and snowboarding half pipe was soooo rad!

Next – We’re going to come up with our own categories to compete in! This part is super fun because everyone at your party will have their own unique idea. Yasmin may want to compete in designing the most fab messy fishtail braid. And Cloe may want to compete in fastest run across the yard. It’s all good! Try them all! The best part about having totally different ideas and styles to compete in is that everyone has a chance at winning!

Then – We are going to go through all my fierce thrift store finds and design some super rad Olympic medals. Why just stick to a chunk of metal around your neck when you can design your own awesome shirt, scarf or tie with sewed on fabrics and hardware in gold, silver and bronze? Be creative!

Last – We’ll throw our very own medal ceremony for each of the games we competed in during the ceremony. Every girl will be given one of the upcycled, bedazzled “medals” we just designed!

We’ll end it all by sitting down to watch a radtastic sports flick with a bowl of popcorn. We earned it! We just held an entire Olympics in one night!

Will you throw your own Olympics slumber party this weekend?

XOXO

Funky ‘n’ Fab Football Fashions

What’z the hapz, Bratz?
This Sunday is the Superbowl! Are you totally psyched?!? I dig any opportunity to get together with my besties, eat some fiery foods and cheer at the top of my lungs! And, just like for any other epic occasion, I’m all about dressing the part! Whether you’re cheering for the Seahawks or the Broncos, there are seriously boss looks you can find at home to show off your team spirit!

Jade’s Guide to Funky ‘n’ Fab Football Fashions:

COLORS: Once you know your team colors, it’s super easy to support your team by layering the colors! Cheerleaders should take note! We’re going to look fabulous.

Seahawks colors: blue, silver and bright green

Broncos colors: orange and blue

EYE SHADOW: There are two ways to show off your spirit in shadow. You can paint each eyelid a diff color. For example, if you’re a Broncos fan, color your left eye blue and your right eye orange! Or, use all the colors of your team on each eye. Remember, use the darker colors on the lid and the lighter color above the eye crease. For example, if you are a Seahawks fan, use the darker blue color as eyeliner, cover your eyelid in green up to your eye crease, and then use the lightest color, silver, up to your brow!

NAILS: We are fans of painting every other finger a different team color for alternating awesomeness!

LAYERED SHIRTS: Super easy to do! Bronco fans can wear a blue camisole under an orange shirt. Make sure the blue camisole is longer than the orange shirt and peeks out on the bottom to complete the look. You can also layer your team-colored sweaters, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more! Just make sure the longer shirt is on the bottom.

JEWELRY: Wear it all! Everywhere! We usually recommend being conservative with your accessories, but when it comes to game day, go all out!! I totally encourage you to put on every piece of jewelry you have that is your team colors! The brighter and the danglier, the better!

LACES ‘n’ RIBBONS: Pick up team-colored shoe laces from your local dollar store and then complete the look by adding team-colored ribbons to your hair.

You will shine with team spirit from head to toe!

Go team!!

Tweevils are Cyber Bullies

What’z the hapz, Bratz??

If any of you Bratzies were on Facebook, you would’ve seen that the Tweevils hacked into our Facebook page!! It was totally KRAY-to-the-Z! Krazy!! And beyond NOT kool!!

After they went on our Facebook page, they left posts pretending they were us!! Can you believe it?! They even tried to pry secret information about us from all of our Bratzies!! But the total worst part: they changed our Facebook password so we couldn’t get back in!!

Luckily, our EPICALLY RAD Bratzies took to Twitter and told us what the Tweevils changed our password to. Those puke-pink Tweevils totally cyber bullied us, but we will NOT let it happen again! I did a little research and found some primo tips on protecting your privacy in cyber space!!

JADE’S RAD ANTI-CYBER BULLYING TIPS:

1 – NEVER tell anyone your password. Not even your BBFs!! A true bestie would never make you feel bad for not sharing. When you lose your password, like we did, you lose total control of your page and your image. Avoid this epic fail by keeping your secret password secret.

2 – Never send texts or pics to anyone that you wouldn’t want getting around. If there is an adorbs pic of you blowing a bubble, but you aren’t supposed to be chewing gum, do NOT send the cute pic to your friend. Instead, show it to her in-person whenever you see her next. Anything that could get you in trouble should stay in your possession only!

3 – Never open any messages from people on the internet that you don’t know or know to be bullies. These messages could contain gnarly text or links that contain viruses!! Best to play it safe and just stay clear.

4 – Don’t save your password on any computer — except for maybe the ones you own at home. And alwayz make sure to log out of all your accounts at the school media center, library, Internet café or even at a friend’s house. If someone is anglin’ to cyber bully, you don’t want to make it easy for her to pick you as the next target.

5 – Pause before you post.  Peeps will judge you by the messages you leave behind on social media. If you think you’ve written something rad and full of swagger, read it again to make sure it can’t be misinterpreted as mean or crude. Once you’ve given it the once-over, if you’re still  amped by what you wrote, go ahead and click: send.

BONUS TIP – Don’t be a cyber bully yourself. A true Bratzie is never mean to someone, even when you have the opportunity to be mean anonymously. Do YOU want to be like the Tweevils? It takes a lot of character to take the high road, but if there is one thing people know about our Bratzies, it is that they are over-flowing with character.

Lastly, if you see someone being cyber bullied, tell an adult you trust. For more tips, read our radtacular blog, called “Friends Stand Up.” You can click below to read it:

Stay stylin’, my friends.

Slumber Party Fashions

What’z the hapz, Bratz?

Our EPIC SLUMBER PARTY is tomorrow night!!!!! Ahhh, I seriously can’t wait.

It’s totally important that you bring the right stuff to a Slumber Party. To help you Bratzies remember what to bring here is:

JADE’S RADTACULAR SLUMBER PARTY MUST HAVES:

PAJAMA FASHION STATEMENT:

A good Slumber Party is totally active. You will be jumpin’, jugglin’ and jivin’ the night away. Opt for gnarly boxers or bright printed pajama pants over a nightgown. Shorts will give you the extra edge whether you’re engaged in a pillow fight, or bouncing on the bed, singing karaoke.

Equally important are kozy slippers or funk-i-fied socks. I’m a total fan-girl for the striped socks with individual toes! Keep something fluffy, furry or funky on your footsies to stay warm as the night wages on!

SLUMBER IN STYLE:

Bring a ton of hairbands, ribbons and nail polish. One of my fave things to do at a p.j. par-tay  each other’s hair in krazy kool wayz! I’ve been totally inspired ever since we rocked our new Twisty Stylez look! Can you pull off this fierce fashion statement?

Another must is funky nail polish. I’m ob-to-the-sessed with neons right now! And nail art is totally in vogue! Bring different color nail polish and toot picks. The toothpicks can be used to draw stripes, polka dots or other designs! If you can’t use nail polish, try our super kool stick-on nail art that comes with our Totally Polished dolls!

Ooh! And don’t forget to let your toenails dry before putting your socks or slippers back on! Tee hee!

PLACE TO LAY YOUR HEAD:

A sleeping bag is a MUST! Not only does it keep you warm at night, but also it can be used as a sled to pull your friends around the room in! And don’t forget your pillow!! I ALWAYZ love to being a blank white pillowcase and some permanent markers! At  Slumber Parties my besties will write messages to each other on our pillowcases! It’s such a rad memento to remember our fabtastic time!

Hint: Sleep on the side of the pillowcase that was NOT written on so marker doesn’t get all over your face. Wait until you’ve washed the pillowcase to sleep on the marker side.

CRUMB FOR THE TUM:

I cannot survive a Slumber Party without sitting down to watch my fave flicks! When you watch movies, obviously, popcorn becomes a MUST. And it can be super fun to dress up your popcorn! Take out individual bowls and pour some popcorn into each. Then add different delicious delicacies to each bowl! I like adding m&ms to one popcorn bowl, caramels to another and cayenne pepper to the third!! Mmm, sooo delish!

THERE’S A TIME TO STAY STATIONARY:

Lastly, don’t forget papers, pens and markers. They are a must for games like M.A.S.H., Truth or Lie, and simply documenting the epic night in!!

I REALLY HOPE YOU JOIN IN OUR KRAZY KOOL SLUMBER PARTY TOMORROW!!!!

We will be LIVE POSTING from our Slumber Party ONLINE ONLY. This way, you can join from the comfort of your own home! Tune in to our social media pages to participate in the party.

The invite is below!

REMEMBER:

If you’re not old enough to be on social media, ask a parent or older sibling to keep you updated on all the fun ‘n’ fab things we are doing!! This way, you can still totally play along!!  Also, if you can’t invite friends over to throw your own Slumber Party, pop yourself a bowl or popcorn, bring out some neon nail polish and have a radtacular party-for-one!

We can’t wait to hang out with you at our Slumber Party tomorrow night!!!

XoXo

Happy Memorial Day!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, my bestie HOBles!!

If you’re like me, you love this fabulous 3-day weekend for the barbeques, fireworks and get-togethers, but we should totally remember that the real meaning of this holiday deserves our love, too!

Memorial Day is all about celebrating those AH-MAZ-ING men and women who served in our military. This weekend, I wanted to give you Bratzies something fierce to think about while catchin’ rays poolside, so I decided to honor Memorial Day by highlighting a total military Real Bratz: General Ann E. Dunwoody.

General Dunwoody is the first woman in U.S. military history to achieve a 4-star officer rank!! When she earned her fourth star, General Dunwoody became one of the most senior commanders in the armed services, a status only held by men in America for centuries.

What makes this story even more sweet is that this Real Bratz isn’t the only fab female warrior in her family! The Dunwoody women are breaking barriers all over the world! General Ann E. Dunwoody’s sister, Susan Schoeck was only the third woman in the Army to become a fighter pilot! Way to go, Susan!! And General Dunwoody’s niece, Jennifer Schoeck is a U.S. Air Force Fighter Pilot! I’m OB-to-the-SESSED with these amazing women. They are totally game-changers and totally fabnomenal!

General Dunwoody accredits her awesome family for raising her to be the trailblazing groundbreaking rock star that she is! “I grew up in a family that didn’t know what glass ceilings were,” Dunwoody says.

She also pays tribute to all the fabulous that came before her. “I recognize that with this selection (to become the first woman to achieve 4-star officer rank), some will view me as a trailblazer, but it’s important that we remember the generations of women, whose dedication, commitment and quality of service helped open the doors of opportunity for us today.”

We HEART you General Ann E. Dunwoody! We hope your Memorial Day is as fabtastic as you are!!

XOXO

Happy Mother’s Day

Whatz the hapz, Bratz? Who’z stoked for Mother’s Day?!

I think this Mother’s Day is going to be the fabbest and fiercest ever!! Do you know why? Because we Bratz are all about giving some real attention to some #RealBratz, like our moms!

We all know #RealBratz lend a hand, stand up for their passions and encourage others to do the same.  I know a LOADS of moms who totally fit this rockin’ description, don’t you?

Everyone should honor the woman in his or her life on Mother’s Day! In addition to loving our own moms, we wanted to give a special Mother’s Day shout out to #RealBratz momma Jennifer Garner!

We all know the actress Jennifer Garner from her fierce roles in “Alias,” “13 going on 30” and “Juno,” but this momma is so much more than just a performer!

I LOVE watching old episodes of “Alias” on Netflix. She was totally the most butt-kicking spy on TV ever! Aaaaand, she totally broke barriers by being the first FEMALE to rock such a fab role!

The totally crazy thing is, she didn’t even know martial arts before she took the super side-kicking spy role!! Krazy kool, right?! I read that she was really insecure about whether she would be able to pull off playing the part, but instead of giving in to fear she studied hard, got a trainer and kicked butt at kicking butt! She totally pushed the boundaries of what she thought was possible for herself, and won a Golden Globe for all her hard work!

But what REALLY makes Jennifer the coolest momma ever is that she is an activist. She travels the country pushing the importance of early childhood literacy and education. As Save the Children’s Artist Ambassador, she is working to ensure that early education services are established in the most impoverished parts of the U.S.! In true #RealBratz style, this fierce momma-bear is changing the world by bringing her innovative, game-changing agenda all the way to the U.S. Senate!! (And she looks stylin’ doing it, too!!)

Way to rock, Jennifer! We love you, and we think you’re a total #RealBratz!

How is YOUR mom a #RealBratz? Tell us in the comments, and then make sure to go tell your mom, too!!

XOXO

Jade’s Daylight Savings Survival Guide

Howzit hangin’, Bratzies?

Jade here, reminding all my rad BBFs it’s time to SPRING FORWARD into Daylight Savings time!!

Super early on Sunday, March 10, while we are still in dreamland, the clocks will jump forward an hour. This means we’ll get one hour less of sleep this weekend. Uber lame, right?

It also means the sun will rise and set an hour later, causing the mornings to be darker and the evenings to be lighter longer. If you’re like me, this change can totes mess with your sked. But have no fear, fellow Bratzies, I’ve got all the tips you need to get through this change unscathed. Introducing:

Jade’s Day Light Savings Survival Guide!!!

DARKER MORNINGS:

-       CHANGE YOUR WAKE-UP TUNES – If you have a crazy-hard time waking up for school when it’s dark outside, change your alarm clock radio to play a more upbeat station. Pick something that plays fun pop or dubstep. If your iPod hooks up to your alarm clock, make a bumpin’ exercise mix, with songs like, “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift. It’s sure to get your body moving and your bottom out of bed!

-       NATURAL MAKE-UP PALATE – Applying make-up in the dark can be super tricky. If your bathroom doesn’t have good light, try switching your color palate to neutrals. That way, if you accidentally put on too much eye shadow, no one will be able to tell!

-       PRE-PICK CLOTHES – It is totes easy to clash your colors when getting dressed in the dark. Don’t worry about embarrassing color coordinating confusion! Take advantage of the sun being out later and pick out your outfits the night before. You may even get to sleep in longer now that you won’t waste time staring at your closet, trying to decide what to wear!

-       FLASHLIGHT BEDAZZLEMENT- If you will be walking to school in the dark, try bedazzling a flashlight. This way you will be safe, and have an awesome looking accessory to go with your outfit. For a little extra fun, you can put a colored gel over the light to make it shine your signature color!

BRIGHTER EVENINGS:

-       BRING SUNSCREEN – After-school sports, like the cheerleading squad, will now be practicing in the sunlight. Be sure to bring and apply sunscreen!

-       BEDAZZLED BOTTLES -  Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! If the sun is beating down on your bod, it is a Bratzie must to replenish the H2O. Bedazzle a water bottle with your name and signature color. Even when you’re sweaty, you can still look stylin’!

-       RUNNING SHOES – Time to dust off the old running shoes. Now that it’s lighter longer, it should be safe to go for an after-school run or walk with your friends. Ask your parents first!

CHECK OUT THE PINTEREST PAGE I CREATED TO GIVE YOU DAYLIGHT SAVINGS INSPIRATION!

Stay Awesome!

First Lady Firsts

Happy Friday, Bratzies! Yasmin here, and I was doing some reading on the President’s Inauguration last month and the way cool dress Michelle Obama wore to the Inaugural Ball.  I found out that she’s the first Democratic First Lady to wear red to the Inaugural Ball in at LEAST a hundred years! I thought that totally fit her, though, because she’s done a lot of firsts since her husband has been President. Did you know Michelle Obama planted the first vegetable garden in the White House in over sixty years?

Michelle Obama isn’t the only First Lady with firsts. Did you know Hillary Clinton was the first First Lady with a postgraduate degree and her own office in the West Wing? Or that Laura Bush was the first non-president to deliver the weekly presidential radio address, and spoke on female equality across the globe? I think it’s pretty awesome that these ladies worked just as hard as our Presidents to make a difference in not only the United States, but the world.

Have you ever done something that your friends or family had never done before you? Let’s hear about your fabulous strides to set the bar higher, Real Bratz!

Happy Weekending!
