Rainy Day Hair

Rainy days can be the ultimate bad hair day! If hair is curly, the rain sometimes causes frizz. If hair is straight in the rain, our beautiful strands can fall flat. What a bummer!

As the resident fashionista, I’m here to talk how to perk up that rainy day hair in a jiffy. There are so many things a Bratzie can do!

I’m always a fan of a messy ponytail, pigtails or the uber trendy top-knot. If you’re really feelin’ down about your hair because of the rain, I suggest trying a hat (like the beret I’m wearing in the photo). There are also really cute slouchy beanies, headbands (try a thick winter, knitted one) or even go sporty with a baseball cap.

Don’t let a little wet hair bring ya down!

What hairstyles do you try in the rain? Tell me in a comment, I’m always looking for new tips!

Be Natural, Beauty!

Cloe on the Trends Blog today to talk about natural beauty. You all have it, Bratzies! Don’t cover it up with tons of makeup, instead let it shine through like the ray of sunshine you are! Makeup sure is a lot of fun to play with and wear, but you don’t have to wear tons of it to be pretty. I think the purpose of makeup is to highlight the pretty features you already have!

Here are a few simple makeup rules I follow to keep my natural beauty –

  1. Easy on the eyeliner – there is no need for all that black around your eyes. Try to use as little (or none) as possible
  2. Keep it simple – If you decide to wear eye shadow for a day, don’t wear lipstick (instead use a clear gloss or chapstick). If you want to have a bright lip (like pink or red), skip eye shadow for the day
  3. Give the natural look a try – save makeup for special occasions and not every day. Consider it the same as a new birthday or fancy dress in your closet. Only put it on sometimes.
  4. Face makeup is not necessary – you are probably too young to wear face makeup. I know I am. My mom doesn’t let me wear it because she says it’s a bad habit to start when young and I don’t need to cover up (or ruin) my pretty skin.
  5. ALWAYS wash your face – at the end of every day, be sure to clean off all the makeup and then give an extra wash on the face to keep skin healthy and glowing. Never, ever go to sleep with makeup

Personally, I love my bright blue eyes and would never want to put lots of eyeliner around it. What do you love about your face? Share positive comments about why you don’t need to wear so much makeup in a comment.

Fall-ing for New Beauty Trends

Hi there, Bratzies! It’s Cloe and I’m hereto dish about Fall Beauty trends that I’m totally into this season. With so many trends out right now it was hard to choose, but I narrowed it down to my top 2.  What do you think is the best Fall Beauty Trend right now?

Trend 1: The Cat-Eye

I talked about the cat-eye in post a few months back & I am so excited to see that it was a hit on the runways this year. This beauty look always comes in-and-out of fashion and this year it is SO IN! I love the trend because it looks awesome on my eyes and it’s perfect for the nights I want to get glammed up.  To get this look take eye pencil or powder eyeliner…depending on eye, hair & skin color you can use different shades of black, brown, gray or even blue. First, lightly outline the eye on the top and bottom lid. Next, extend a line of color on the outer corner of you eye, but be careful not to extend the line too long. Voila, you completed the cat-eye! Now bat those lashes because you look great!

Trend 2: Nude Lips

Nude lips have been totally trendy for some time now and I’m hoping it never goes away. As a total sports junkie sometimes I don’t have time to get all dolled up after a soccer game, so I like being able to throw on some chapstick or clear gloss and call it a day! Plus, nude lips goes from day to night and looks good on every gal. Grab your favorite flavored chapstick or gloss, swipe it across the lips and showoff that beautiful smile!

As always Bratzies, remember to ask your parents for permission before trying any of these makeup trends.

Happy Fall, beautiez!

Bratz Fragrance Tutorial

Hey Lovelies! What’s your go-to summer scent? I am totally obsessed with fruity, citrusy mists — they’re perfect for summer! Yasmin loves floral scents because she says they remind her of spring blossoms and butterflies. Sasha is always sporting the sweet scent of vanilla and coconuts, and Jade is all about the clean, fresh scents that remind her of the ocean!

Ever wonder what the difference is between body spray and perfume? Here is a quick tutorial!

Body Spray (aka body mist or body splash) is great for school because its sweet scents are subtle but refreshing! You’ll smell as sweet as can be without bothering your classmates with strong, overbearing scents.

Eau de colognes and eau de toilettes have a greater concentration of scents than body spray but less than perfume. Their scent will linger longer than your average body spray but won’t be too intense.

Eau de parfum and perfume have the greatest concentration of scents per bottle. They last longer and shouldn’t be applied heavily. Spray just a little on your wrists and neck and you are good to go all day!

Tell me what your favorite scent of the season is and why!
xoxo,

Summer Skin Care

When the summer sun is shining bright I love splashing around at the beach all day with my girlz! It’s so easy to get carried away with summer fun and forget about putting on some extra SPF.

Remember, part of being a fabulous fashionista means taking care of your body—and your skin is so important to protect! The sun can damage your skin very badly over time and can cause wrinkles, age spots, eye problems and sometimes go as far as skin cancer.

I embrace my natural glow and protect my skin from the sun's harmful rays!

I always slather on SPF 15 face moisturizer every morning. When I know I’m spending the day enjoying the great outdoors—whether at an outdoor mall or hanging with friends at the park—I put at least SPF 15 sun block all over myself. When I’m active outside or going in and out of water I make sure to reapply many times throughout the day. Even the sun block that says “sport” or “water proof” on the package needs to be reapplied because it does come off!

There are other ways to be skin smart in the sun by the clothes you wear, like wearing a big floppy sun hat! I pair it with some wide rimmed sunglasses for a retro glam look! It protects my face and eyes and looks great.

If you must have that sun kissed look do it safely! I dust a little bronzer on my cheeks and forehead so it gives just the right amount of warm glow to my face. To get an all over body glow you can use self-tanning lotions. Some work gradually, meaning the color builds up each time you use it and others are stronger and give you an immediate glow. My best advice for self-tanning lotions is to exfoliate your skin before with a loofah and a good body scrub.

Enjoy the summer sun—go out and play! Be safe, love, laugh, live and embrace your natural glow!

Love,
